Celebrating Children's Creativty

- Taking place April 2012 - February 2013 -

The Celebrating Children’s Creativity project has been running since 1999 and offers primary schools the opportunity to take part in arts activities and projects.

Projects run over 2 days, although if a school would like a more involved and longer project, then extra days may be agreed between the artist and the school.

The projects will fall into two categories, either:

a. Celebrating Children’s Creativity, a project which allows a group of 15 - 25 children to work with a professional artist in a range of visual arts, dance, drama and music mediums. The project offers children an opportunity to engage with an arts project from beginning to end including research and investigation as well as creation towards a stated outcome agreed between the artist and the school. Projects could be linked to the national Curriculum.

Our recent research undertaken with North Powys Primary Schools has demonstrated that in addition to CCC projects, schools are also interested in:

b. Demonstrations / talks / tasters, projects in which individual or groups of artists or performers, come into the school for one day and offer access to larger groups in shorter sessions, allowing the whole school to participate. These projects allow children to see and hear but participation is limited to perhaps asking questions of a storyteller, trying out instruments, learning a song or creating limited artwork towards a whole school piece.

Required: Artists in all mediums

Brief: Please fill in the Project Proposal Form to outline the type/s of project you can run.

Location: Primary schools across North Powys and Wrexham.

Fee: £345 for the whole project inc. of materials, please see Employment Criteria for further details.

Dates: Projects will run from April 2012 – February 2013.

To Apply: Please fill in the Project Proposal Form and send in with an up-to-date CV and covering letter.

Summarised proposals will be sent to all schools.
